Great Conversations has three Tuesday evenings planned for the 2016-2017 school year: October 4, February 7, and April 4.
The topic for the conversation on October 4 is "Yes, black lives matter. So, what's to be done?"
A challenging set of discussion-starter questions have been submitted to an important group of locally celebrated panelists.
I hope you will mark your calendar for what may turn out to be our best conversation in the four years that we have been gathering for civil discourse in the pursuit of truth on salient topics.
We are holding the October 4 event at The Kansas African-American Museum, 601 N. Water, in Wichita. Director Mark McCormick is one of the panelists. The evening will start at 7 p.m. and formally conclude by 8:45.
Relatedly, may I ask you to consider joining the Eighth Day Institute. I make a small monthly donation myself because I support Erin Doom's vision to renew culture, in part, through civil discourse in the pursuit of truth. Do consider becoming a member.
Though I don't have a gift for fundraising, know that Erin and I would not turn down any financial help for securing the rental agreement with TKAAM for October 4. Tax-deductible donations can be made here.
Again, look forward with interest to our Great Conversations this year. See you on Tuesday, October 4.
