RESIDENT ALIENS: THE CITY OF GOD IN A SECULAR AGE
If you are a pastor or are involved in any sort of ministry, you'll want to join us for this inaugural Eighth Day Colloquium with James K. A. Smith.
Smith will lead us in an exploration of public theology within the context of a secular age. We thus encourage registrants to read two of Smith's books: 1) How (Not) to Be Secular: Reading Charles Taylor; and 2) Awaiting the King: Reforming Public Theology.
Coffee, Morning Snacks, and Lunch will be provided.
9am-4pm on Friday and Saturday, Feb 23-24
Smith will also be giving two public lectures:
1) Thursday evening, Feb 22: A Hall of Men sponsored lecture on St Augustine. This will be a Hall of Men format, but open to the public (gals included!)
2) Saturday evening, Feb 24: A public lecture related to his book You Are What You Love: The Spiritual Power of Habit
