The first two Hall of Men gatherings for 2016 are out of character in at least two ways. First, both presentations focus on a living person, something we typically shy away from. And second, neither presentation focuses on a hero of the faith in the traditional sense.
The first gathering, on Kenneth Miller, provoked a lively discussion about creation and evolution. Where the next one will go on Bob Dylan is yet to be seen. But like the first presentation, both presenters are trustworthy: a God-fearing Orthodox Christian priest at the first one and a brilliant Evangelical Professor of Theology at this next one.
We hope you'll join us for another interesting presentation at The Ladder on February 11. As usual, doors open at 7 pm and food is served around 7:30 pm. At 8:30 pm we'll prepare for the lecture with the Eighth Day Convocation: hymn, patristic and scripture readings, and the Nicene Creed. Then a great lecture followed by good questions and discussion, the Lord's Prayer, good fellowship, and just possibly a few good smoke rings.
Bring your pipe, have a pint, and make yourself at home among brothers who love Christ, want to follow him well, and seek to renew our culture by being faithful witnesses for our faith.
We hope to see you February 11!
