Fr. Paul O'Callaghan will present Fr. Stanley Jaki at the next Hall of Men on April 27, 2017.
Jaki was born in Hungary (1924), became a Benedictine priest, and was Distinguished University Professor at Seton Hall University from 1975 until his death in 2009. He was a Fellow at Yale, a Lecturer at Oxford, Gifford Lecturer at Edinburgh, won the Templeton Prize, and his accolades go on and on. He held doctorates in theology and physics, did post-doctoral research on the philosophy of science, and wrote more than two dozen books on the relationship between modern science and orthodox Christianity.
As usual, doors will open at The Ladder at 7 pm and food will be served around 7:30 pm. At 8:30 pm we'll prepare for the lecture with the Eighth Day Convocation: hymn, patristic and scripture readings, the Nicene Creed, and the Lord's Prayer. Then a great lecture followed by good questions and discussion, good fellowship, and just possibly a few good smoke rings.
We hope to see you at The Hall!
