A Symposium on the Status of the Persecuted Christian Communities of the Middle East
Who are they? What are they enduring? What are their hopes?
Join us on February 26-28, 2016, to learn more about the tragic persecution of Christians in the Middle East.
We're partnering with St George Orthodox Christian Cathedral in Wichita, KS to organize this conference as springboard to launch a Wichita chapter of In Defense of Christians (IDC).
IDC is an American-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure the protection and preservation of Christianity and Christian culture in the Middle East. They work to foster global awareness of the on-going plight of Middle Eastern Christians, encourage political advocacy in order to educate national and international policy makers so as to act toward this goal, and promote programs of humanitarian aid in solidarity with suffering Christian communities in the Middle East.
On Saturday, February 27, we'll begin with prayer and dig into the status of persecuted Christian communities in the Middle East.
Finally, on Sunday, February 28, we're offering a special "Membership Brunch" at Yia Yia's Euro Bistro with Nahren Anweya, another keynote speaker, for current and potential Wichita chapter members to get acquainted and learn more about IDC.
Please Note: Everyone is welcome to attend the sessions regardless of whether they have registered. We have requested registration in order to estimate the number we will serve for lunch, so please encourage registration for anyone who plans to stay over for lunch. Otherwise, everyone is welcome!
The Membership Brunch at YiaYia’s Restaurant Sunday, February 28, at noon is for potential members of the forming Wichita chapter of IDC to get to know each other. There is a $20 charge for the open buffet brunch. Please let us know if you plan to attend, so we can give a count to the restaurant. You may pay at the restaurant if you wish, or submit advance payment to St. George Cathedral.
Reserve your lunch and purchase your seat for the Sunday brunch below.
