As I'm sure many of you have noticed, the day-to-day activity of the Institute has been somewhat muted of late, and I want to explain what we've been up to.
You may know that Erin Doom, our Founder and Director, has been working on and off toward a PhD for the past several years, at the request of the EDI Board of Directors. It's been a long struggle, but I'm delighted to say that we are closer than ever to closing that chapter and moving forward. Erin has been working nonstop on his dissertation for the past couple months and has submitted four chapters to his doctoral advisor. A final chapter, an intro, and a conclusion, and we'll (literally) close this book.
Please pray for Erin and for the Institute as we work through this final phase.
While Erin's dissertation work has slowed down some of our daily activity, our larger endeavors, such as Synaxis and the Inklings Festival are moving full steam ahead. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for exciting developments in those areas shortly!
We thank you for your patience with us and beg your further indulgence for the next month or so. If you need to contact Erin for any reason, he'll be making time on Tuesdays and Fridays to respond to emails, calls, etc.
