"A Robot Ate My Students' Homework" by Matthew Umbarger
Just a little over a year ago, Chat GPT came on the scene, and opened up a whole new world of possibilities for unscrupulous students to commit acts of plagiarism. Two semesters later, I am bewildered by the task of educating college students in this environment. I have not found any real solutions, but I do think that I can make a few haphazard predictions about where higher education, and, in turn, culture is headed. There is much of which to despair, but also a little bit of consolation to be found: the meek really shall inherit the earth.
